Message Hi all,

I recently completed a plenum pull with a 740cc NISMO injector upgrade with Z1 adapter kit and SZ ECU. The car started after some convincing and ran halfway decent after it idled for a while, but still not 100% clearly. Next time I started it, it seemed to run a little poorer, really struggling with power and idle. I did a boost leak test and found a huge leak somewhere in the back right of the engine near the IACV. I Cleaned the air regulator, ohm tested it (75 ohms - FSM spec) and sprayed a bit of WD-40 through the idle system. I used a spray bottle with soapy water to hunt for leaks and could find nothing that was bubbling to account for the massive amount of air leaking. The car ran even poorer now, barely starting. It couldn't even keep running without blipping the throttle, shaking like a mofo and sounding like a huge miss. It was also smoking a fair deal of white smoke down near the driver downpipe which my friend said was likely the new downpipe gaskets making a seal or something.

The car eventually would not start, and now just cranks forever and won't fire even with a squirt of starting fluid. When I disconnected and hooked up the negative battery terminal, the security system went off. This happened one other time after. Then one day while working on it, my friend noticed my brights were flashing. I looked and didn't see anything for about 30 seconds, then my brights flashed and the security system was going off intermittently! I'm wondering if there is an electrical gremlin that is preventing spark but not causing total ignition interlock? How would I cure/check this problem? Any other theories why it will crank but not fire or start? What could that huge air leak possibly be?

I can't check fuel pressure or timing because the car will not run. ECU is code 55 All Clear no problems.

New 02 sensors, new ECT sensor, SZ ECU chip, new Iridium IX plugs, Z1 downpipes, Z1 testpipes, and cheap catback with resonators. EGR bypass, coolant throttle body delete, PRVR delete, CC delete, and AIV delete.

Thanks everyone.
